I started out at New C in 2007 and it is now 2023. 16 years and I’ve seen people come and go but the commitment, love and knowledge we receive from Pastor Byrd has always been consistent. I’m sure it’s not easy for him but I truly thank him for exemplifying the love of Christ. Being transparent, rooted and grounded; not moved by the trials in life. But standing on our firm foundation. This isn’t just a church but it’s family. Which challenges me to grow and be consistent in my walk with Christ that I may too, demonstrate the love of God to everyone else.
When I first discovered New C it was through a virtual service that Mayor Rachel Proctor (FB friend and childhood relation fellowship) posted. I must start by saying I have been intentional, praying and seeking God on a church home. When my sister and I stepped into New C; we were captivated on our first visit and immediately wanted to join. Because I grew up in church all my life , it was definitely the Spirit of God That moved in this church and the unction I felt was strictly by the Holy Spirit. Pastor Byrd and First Lady Byrd made me feel welcomed right away! Pastor always delivers a thought provoking and inspiring message. From the Word of God and the other ministries like the music, hospitality committees and more I feel at home at New C which is why I’m proud to be a member and have them as my church family.
“As a millennial member, I can attest that New C offers a unique experience that counters any church in the Best Southwest. While entering, there is a visible and audible spirit of gratitude from the greeters, ushers, and elders. When leaving, there is a consistent presence from Pastor Andre Byrd Sr. and Lady Jacqueline Byrd. Other leaders, such as Brother DeShun Lewis, make an effort to attract members through excellence in praise and worship. Today, I am a member of the choir, which allows me to serve God while engaging in positive fellowship. I look forward to continuing my spiritual journey at New C.”
